We have helped to get better returns from assets, to increase operating results and to improve the competitiveness of companies in the United Kingdom, in mainland Europe and in the United States.  Our work as management consultants focuses on costs, organisation and people.  We use this simple framework to manage complex assignments – often with an international dimension – and to support managers on smaller, more focused projects.  Supporting clients in responding to changed circumstances, in seizing opportunities and in strengthening their businesses is a constant feature of our work.

As an organisation reacts to day to day small changes, over time it tends to introduce new reporting relationships with narrowing spans of control.  Costs increase and profitability decreases.  We cut through the clutter, removing managerial layers, and designing and setting up new structures, accountabilities and procedures.  We have done this in many sectors: aerospace, construction and building products; consumer goods; distribution; energy; engineering, nuclear and transport.  In central Government departments we have streamlined operations and helped Executive Agencies to integrate new services and reduce costs.

Improvements to processes should be cemented by a new organisational structure that shows how jobs fit with processes and how accountability is exercised, reported and measured. Cutting layers of management and widening spans of control help to reduce costs and improve communication and responsiveness. We make sure people are in the right jobs, doing the right things.
